Privacy
CardTruth collects as little as it can. Here is exactly what, why, and how to have it removed.
What stays in your browser
Your Card Match answers and the cards in My wallet are saved only in your own browser. They are never sent to CardTruth or anyone else, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
Visiting the site
CardTruth sets no cookies and has no accounts or ads. Page views are counted with a cookieless analytics tool that doesn't identify you or follow you to other sites.
The newsletter
If you subscribe, we keep:
- your email address;
- which part of the site you signed up from;
- your IP address at signup, used only to filter out spam signups.
We use them only to send the newsletter you asked for. We don't sell or share them, and we don't track whether you open our emails or click their links. You are subscribed only after you confirm by email.
The list is stored by our email service provider, which may store and process it in the United States, where it can be subject to that country's laws.
Your choices
- Every email has an unsubscribe link that works in one click.
- To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email contact@cardtruth.ca. We reply within 30 days.
- After you unsubscribe, your address is kept only to make sure you aren't emailed again. Ask and we'll delete it completely.
Contact
Questions or complaints go to the CardTruth privacy lead at contact@cardtruth.ca. If you aren't satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.
