The Fine Print Report
Moderate fine print. The value depends on a Rogers service, heavy spending and using Rogers-specific credits.
2% needs a Rogers service; 1.5% withoutImpact level: High
The 2% rate needs a Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave service in your name; without one, purchases earn 1.5%
You must be the primary account holder of a postpaid Rogers or Fido consumer mobile plan, or a Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave internet, TV, home phone, home monitoring or satellite service, in good standing. A Level 1 authorized user on a Rogers mobile plan also counts. Business plans and co-branded services don't. Rogers Bank checks your status from time to time.
Why it matters: Without a Rogers service, $50,000 of spending earns $750 instead of $1,000, against a $495 fee.
2 missed payments: rates up to 25.99%Impact level: High
Two missed payments in 12 months can raise your rates to 25.99% on purchases and 27.99% on cash advances
If the required payment isn't made by the due date twice in 12 months, Rogers Bank can raise purchases from 21.99% to 25.99%, and cash advances and balance transfers from 22.99% to 27.99%, from the next statement. Applicants outside Quebec who don't qualify for the standard rates can be given an account at those higher rates from the start.
Why it matters: If you sometimes carry a balance, set up automatic minimum payments.
$2,900 value assumes $90,000 spendImpact level: Medium
The advertised $2,900 in yearly value assumes $90,000 in spending and full use of every perk
Rogers Bank's figure adds $1,800 of cash back on $90,000 of purchases, $270 of saved FX fees on $10,800 of foreign spending, the $200 entertainment credit, 6 lounge passes at $72 each and a Soho Friends membership at $175. The entertainment credit only covers Rogers TV and streaming billed by Rogers (not Apple, Google or Amazon subscriptions), must be claimed, and doesn't carry over.
Why it matters: Against the $495 fee, the card pays off only if you spend heavily, travel abroad and already pay Rogers for TV or streaming.
Nov 18: 5% on Rogers, 1.5x redeem endsImpact level: Medium
From November 18, 2026, Rogers purchases earn 5% but the 1.5x redemption bonus ends; Roam Like Home days end January 12, 2027
Eligible Rogers purchases (such as a Rogers, Fido or Shaw postpaid mobile bill, or products bought on the Rogers or Fido website) will earn 5%. In-store Rogers purchases, Blue Jays tickets and Rogers Preferred Program plans don't count. All cash back will then redeem at 1¢ a point, even against purchases posted earlier. The 10 Roam Like Home days become a $200 yearly roaming credit.
Why it matters: Cash back saved for a 1.5x Rogers redemption is worth a third less after November 17.
$495 fee from issue; $95 per extra userImpact level: Medium
The $495 fee is charged when the card is issued, even before you activate it, and each authorized user costs $95
Rogers Bank posts annual fees when the application is approved and the card is issued, whether or not it's activated, and every year after that. Each authorized user adds $95 a year.
Why it matters: A couple sharing the card pays $590 a year.
Show 2 more findingsShow fewer
Redeem against purchases, $10 minimumImpact level: Medium
Cash back can only be applied to purchases from the last 90 days, at least $10 at a time
You redeem by picking a purchase from the last 90 days in the Rogers Bank app or online banking, at 1¢ a point, with a $10 minimum. The only other option is one annual statement credit of the whole balance, requested by phone by December 1 and paid in January. Redemptions don't count toward your minimum payment.
Why it matters: Cash back isn't paid out automatically; redeem it regularly or request the annual credit.
Travel medical: 21 days, 5 days at 65+Impact level: Low
Travel medical covers the first 21 days of a trip, only 5 days from age 65, and no one over 75
Emergency medical cover is up to $5 million a person for the first 21 consecutive days of each trip at 64 or under, and 5 days from 65 to 75. Rental car cover is for rentals of up to 31 days and cars with an MSRP up to $85,000.
Why it matters: Travellers 65 or older need separate medical insurance for anything longer than a long weekend.

The Verdict
The Rogers Red World Legend Mastercard pays 2% cash back on everything, in any currency, with no foreign transaction fee, for Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave customers, plus a $200 Rogers entertainment credit, 6 lounge passes and full travel insurance, for $495 a year.
Without a Rogers service it earns 1.5%. The entertainment credit only covers Rogers-billed TV and streaming, and the advertised $2,900 in value assumes $90,000 a year in spending.
The Recommendation: Worth the $495 for Rogers customers who spend $50,000 or more a year, travel abroad and pay Rogers for TV or streaming. Otherwise the no-fee Red World Elite earns the same 2% on up to $61,000 a year, and 3% in U.S. dollars.
