The Fine Print Report
Moderate fine print. The 2% rate depends on a Rogers service and stops at $26,000 a year.
2% needs a Rogers service; 1% withoutImpact level: High
The 2% rate needs a Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave service in your name; without one, most purchases earn 1%
You must be the primary account holder of a postpaid Rogers or Fido consumer mobile plan, or a Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave internet, TV, home phone, home monitoring or satellite service, in good standing. A Level 1 authorized user on a Rogers mobile plan also counts. Business plans and co-branded services don't. Rogers Bank checks your status from time to time, and a change can take up to 7 business days to show.
Why it matters: If you cancel your Rogers service or it falls behind, everyday purchases drop from 2% to 1%.
2 missed payments: rates up to 25.99%Impact level: High
Two missed payments in 12 months can raise your rates to 25.99% on purchases and 27.99% on cash advances
If the required payment isn't made by the due date twice in 12 months, Rogers Bank can raise purchases from 21.99% to 25.99%, and cash advances and balance transfers from 22.99% to 27.99%, from the next statement. Applicants outside Quebec who don't qualify for the standard rates can be given an account at those higher rates from the start.
Why it matters: If you sometimes carry a balance, set up automatic minimum payments.
1% after $26,000 a yearImpact level: Medium
After $26,000 in purchases a year, everything earns 1%
The 2% rates apply until your purchases, less returns, reach $26,000 in the year that starts on your account's opening date (or the date you switched to this card). After that, all eligible purchases earn 1% until the next anniversary.
Why it matters: Spending $40,000 a year earns about $660, not $800. Rogers Bank offers the Red World Elite card to accounts that spend more than $25,000 a year.
Nov 18: 5% on Rogers, 1.5x redeem endsImpact level: Medium
From November 18, 2026, Rogers purchases earn 5% but the 1.5x redemption bonus ends; Roam Like Home days end January 12, 2027
Eligible Rogers purchases (such as a Rogers, Fido or Shaw postpaid mobile bill, or products bought on the Rogers or Fido website) will earn 5%, within the $26,000 yearly limit. In-store Rogers purchases, Blue Jays tickets and Rogers Preferred Program plans don't count. All cash back will then redeem at 1¢ a point, even against purchases posted earlier. The 5 Roam Like Home days become a $50 yearly roaming credit.
Why it matters: Cash back saved for a 1.5x Rogers redemption is worth a third less after November 17.
Redeem against purchases, $10 minimumImpact level: Medium
Cash back can only be applied to purchases from the last 90 days, at least $10 at a time
You redeem by picking a purchase from the last 90 days in the Rogers Bank app or online banking, at 1¢ a point, with a $10 minimum. The only other option is one annual statement credit of the whole balance, requested by phone by December 1 and paid in January. Redemptions don't count toward your minimum payment.
Why it matters: Cash back isn't paid out automatically; redeem it regularly or request the annual credit.

2.5% FX fee, kept on refundsImpact level: Medium
Foreign currency purchases cost 2.5% extra, and the fee isn't refunded on returns
Purchases in a foreign currency are converted at the Mastercard rate plus 2.5%. On a return, the refund is converted at the rate for credits, which can be lower, and the 2.5% fee isn't refunded. U.S. dollar purchases earn 2%, so they cost about 0.5% net.
Why it matters: Every $1,000 spent in euros or other non-U.S. currencies costs about $25 in fees and earns $20 at most.
No travel insurance; one card per personImpact level: Low
Purchase protection and extended warranty are the only insurance, and you can hold only one Rogers Bank card
The card covers theft or damage of items bought with it for 90 days and doubles the manufacturer's warranty by up to 1 year, with a $60,000 lifetime limit per account. There's no travel medical, trip cancellation or rental car insurance. Rogers Bank allows one credit card per person.
Why it matters: Book travel and rental cars on a card that insures them.

The Verdict
The Rogers Red World Mastercard pays 2% cash back on everything, with no annual fee, if you hold a Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave service in your name, and adds purchase protection to the Red card.
Without that service most purchases earn 1%, and every purchase earns 1% after $26,000 a year. On November 18, 2026, Rogers purchases move to 5% and the 1.5x redemption bonus ends.
The Recommendation: A strong no-fee card for Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave customers who earn $50,000 or more. If you spend more than $26,000 a year and earn $80,000, the Red World Elite card keeps 2% to $61,000 for the same $0.
