The Fine Print Report
Moderate fine print. Strong flat rates, but the 2% needs a Rogers business service and the debt is personal.
2% needs a Rogers business planImpact level: High
The 2% rate needs a Rogers or Shaw business service; a personal Rogers plan doesn't count
You or the business must hold an eligible Rogers business mobile plan or Rogers or Shaw business internet, TV or phone service, in good standing. Consumer plans are excluded, as are co-branded services. Without one, purchases other than in U.S. dollars earn 1.5%.
Why it matters: If your phone and internet are on personal Rogers plans, this card earns 1.5%.
Sole proprietors only; personal liabilityImpact level: High
Only sole proprietors can apply, and you're personally liable for the whole balance
Applications from corporations and partnerships aren't accepted. Approval is based on your personal income and credit, and you and the business are jointly responsible for the balance, including authorized users' charges. The account appears on your personal credit report.
Why it matters: Business debt on this card affects your personal credit and can be collected from you.
Trip cancellation insurance ends Nov 18Impact level: High
On November 18, 2026, trip cancellation, interruption and delay insurance ends, and rental car cover gains new exclusions
Rogers Bank is removing Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption and Trip Delay coverage. Trips booked on the card before November 18 and taken after it are still assessed under the current cover. Travel medical improves: 15 days a trip under 65 (from 10), shorter stability periods for pre-existing conditions, and no more epidemic or pandemic exclusion.
Why it matters: Business trips booked from November 18 on need separate cancellation insurance.
2 missed payments: rates up to 25.99%Impact level: High
Two missed payments in 12 months can raise your rates to 25.99% on purchases and 27.99% on cash advances
If the required payment isn't made by the due date twice in 12 months, Rogers Bank can raise purchases from 21.99% to 25.99%, and cash advances and balance transfers from 22.99% to 27.99%. Applicants outside Quebec who don't qualify for the standard rates can be given an account at those higher rates from the start.
Why it matters: If you sometimes carry a balance, set up automatic minimum payments.
Nov 18: 5% on Rogers, 1.5x redeem endsImpact level: Medium
From November 18, 2026, Rogers purchases earn 5% but the 1.5x redemption bonus ends; Roam Like Home days end January 12, 2027
Eligible Rogers purchases (such as a Rogers, Fido or Shaw postpaid mobile bill, or products bought on the Rogers or Fido website) will earn 5%. In-store Rogers purchases, Blue Jays tickets and Rogers Preferred Program plans don't count. All cash back will then redeem at 1¢ a point, even against purchases posted earlier. The 5 Roam Like Home days become a $75 yearly roaming credit.
Why it matters: Cash back saved for a 1.5x Rogers redemption is worth a third less after November 17.

2.5% FX fee; refunds at a different rateImpact level: Medium
Foreign currency purchases cost 2.5% extra, and refunds can come back at a lower rate
Purchases in a foreign currency are converted at the Mastercard rate plus 2.5%. On a return, the refund is converted at the rate in effect when it's credited, so you can get back less than you paid. U.S. dollar purchases earn 3%, which more than covers the fee; other currencies earn 2% at most.
Why it matters: In euros, pesos or pounds, every $1,000 costs about $25 in fees and earns $20 at most.
Redeem against purchases, $10 minimumImpact level: Low
Cash back can only be applied to purchases from the last 90 days, at least $10 at a time
You redeem by picking a purchase from the last 90 days in the Rogers Bank app or online banking, at 1¢ a point, with a $10 minimum. The only other option is one annual statement credit, requested by phone by December 1 and paid in January.
Why it matters: Cash back isn't paid out automatically; redeem it regularly or request the annual credit.

The Verdict
The Rogers Red World Elite Business Mastercard pays 2% cash back on everything with a Rogers or Shaw business service, 1.5% without one, and 3% on U.S. dollar purchases, with no annual fee and no yearly limit.
It's for sole proprietors only, you're personally liable for the balance, and a personal Rogers plan doesn't unlock 2%. Trip cancellation insurance ends on November 18, 2026.
The Recommendation: A strong no-fee choice for sole proprietors with a Rogers or Shaw business plan, especially those who pay in U.S. dollars. Incorporated businesses can't apply.
