The Fine Print Report
Moderate fine print. The earn limit and welcome offer conditions are typical for Aeroplan cards; personal liability is the main business-specific term.
Bonus earn ends after $80,000 of spendingImpact level: Medium
All bonus earn rates share one $80,000 a year limit
The 2-point Air Canada rate and the 1.5-point rates apply only on a combined maximum of $80,000 a year of purchases in those categories. After that, they earn 1 point per $1. Purchases count only at merchants whose category code TD recognizes as travel, dining, Air Canada or the listed business services.
Why it matters: A business spending heavily on travel and dining reaches the limit, and some merchants won't be coded as expected.
Most of the bonus needs $15,000+ spendImpact level: Medium
Most of the welcome bonus needs $15,000 in 180 days, and past Aeroplan bonuses can disqualify you
Only 10,000 points come with the first purchase. 30,000 need $15,000 within 180 days and 20,000 need $25,000 within 365 days. You're not eligible if you've opened any TD Aeroplan Visa account in the last 12 months, and under the Aeroplan program terms the points may be withheld or revoked if you've had a bonus on an Aeroplan card of the same category from any issuer.
Why it matters: Check your Aeroplan bonus history before applying, and plan the spending.
You're personally liable for the balanceImpact level: Medium
The business, the person who applied and the cardholder are each liable for everything owed
The cardholder, the business and the individual borrower who requested the account are jointly and severally liable for all amounts owed. If you miss a minimum payment, TD can demand the full balance and, without notice, take money from any other account you hold with TD Bank Group.
Why it matters: If the business can't pay, TD can collect from you personally and from your personal TD accounts.
Medical: 15 days, 4 at 65+Impact level: Medium
Travel medical covers only 15 days of a trip, or 4 days at 65 or older
Travel medical insurance covers the first 15 days of a trip if you're under 65, and the first 4 days if you or your spouse is 65 or older.
Why it matters: Longer trips need a top-up policy bought before you leave.
2.5% FX fee, refunds converted lowerImpact level: Medium
2.5% foreign currency fee, and refunds come back at a lower rate
Foreign currency purchases are converted at Visa's rate plus a fixed percentage, 2.5% on TD's Canadian dollar cards. Refunds are converted at Visa's rate minus the same percentage, so a refund is usually less than the original charge.
Why it matters: A refunded foreign purchase costs you twice the fee, which matters on a travel card.

2 late payments: higher rateImpact level: Medium
Two late minimum payments in 12 statements raise your rate until you make six on time
If TD doesn't receive the minimum payment on time twice within 12 consecutive statement periods, the rates rise to the higher rates in your Disclosure Statement until you make six consecutive minimum payments on time. Since July 2, 2026, unpaid interest is also added to the balance and charged interest.
Why it matters: A business that sometimes carries a balance pays more after two late payments. Automatic minimum payments avoid this.
Lounge passes: $10,000 each, N. America onlyImpact level: Low
Lounge passes need $10,000 each, arrive after the account year and work only in Canada and the U.S.
The primary cardholder earns 1 Maple Leaf Lounge pass for every $10,000 in net purchases in an account year, up to 4, deposited up to 2 weeks after the renewal year. Each expires after 12 months and works only at Maple Leaf Lounges in Canada and the U.S.
Why it matters: A new cardholder waits more than a year for the first pass.

Welcome offers change often, and issuers sometimes run limited-time or targeted offers that differ from what's shown here. Confirm the current offer on the issuer's page before you apply.
The Verdict
The TD Aeroplan Visa Business earns 2 Aeroplan points on Air Canada and 1.5 on travel, dining and business services, with free checked bags for up to 9 travellers, lounge passes, a NEXUS rebate, nine insurance coverages and an unusually low 14.99% purchase rate.
The fine print narrows it: the bonus rates share an $80,000 yearly limit, most of the welcome offer needs $15,000 in 180 days and can be refused for a past Aeroplan bonus, and the business, the applicant and the cardholder are all personally liable.
The Recommendation: Best for small businesses that fly Air Canada and value the lower interest rate and broad insurance. Businesses that never carry a balance and spend heavily in bonus categories should compare the CIBC and Amex Aeroplan business cards.
